There are a number of factors that go into determining whether a sunscreen is safe or not. Stay far away from those containing SPF values above 50 (they provide a false sense of security, typically are not accurate, and can contain more harmful chemicals), and lotions with a ton of chemicals, such as oxybenzone (can disrupt hormones) or retinyl palmitate (may damage sun-exposed skin).

決定一種防曬霜與否取決于很多因素，盡量不要使用SPF值超過50的防曬霜（經(jīng)常會含有一些有害的化學(xué)成分），也不要用含有很多化學(xué)成分的乳液，比如氧苯酮（可能會擾亂激素）或棕櫚酸視黃酯（可能損壞裸露的皮膚）。

Product:Banana Boat Clear UltraMist Kids Max Protect and Play Continuous Spray Sunscreen

Negatives:With an SPF of 110, this product contains a number of dangerous chemicals. The fact that it’s a spray makes it less effective and poses a threat for inhalation. Pass!

Negatives:It looks like the Coppertone girl should have kept her clothes on, as many of their products areon the avoid list, including this SPF 70 lotion. Also leave the sunscreen stick,foaming lotion, and water babies products out of your cart due to the high number of chemicals.

Product:Equate Kid Sunscreen Stick

Negatives:Despite its relatively average SPF rating of 55, the chemical levels in this product are concerning. Think twice before applying this lotion to your little one.

Product:Kroger Baby Sunscreen Lotion

Negatives:SPF 70 and high amounts of retinyl palmitate? Not a good choice! It’s also advised to stay away from Kroger’s kid version of this lotion.
